Paul & Lori Carhart

Paul & Lori Carhart are a creative couple who expect to impact their world through the gifts and talents that God has given them and to raise their daughter to do the same.

The couple considers their primary ministry to be the proper raising of their daughter, Melody. You can follow Melody through life by visiting her sub-site.

Together, Paul & Lori participate in many church worship environments. Lori has been blessed with a tremendous singing voice and plays piano and keyboard while Paul also does some singing and plays bass. Paul is an award-winning Art Director and graphic designer with extensive experience in print, Internet and new media. He's also an illustrator and animator. For more information on Paul's design career, visit the Design section of this site.

Paul is also an accomplished writer with four published novels to his credit as well as many articles that have been published in local and national magazines. May 19, 1968
Paul Michael Carhart was born in Long Beach, California to Mike and Bobbie Carhart.

February 25, 1970
Lori Esther Hedgpeth was born in Long Beach, California to Ray and Esther Hedgpeth.

1970's & early 80's
Paul attends Carver Elementary, Marshall Jr. High and Millikan High School where he took Vocational Printing and served on the school newspaper as writer and cartoonist

1970's & early 80's
Lori attends elementary, middle and high school.

June 1986
Paul graduates from Millikan High School with the Medal of Merit in Industrial Arts (Printing) and the Medallion Award for additional credits earned for an ROP class in Graphic Design.

1988
Paul briefly attends Long Beach City College where he is a writer and cartoonist on the school newspaper.

1992
Lori graduates from California State University, Long Beach with a BA in Speech Communication.

Summer 1992
Paul rededicates his life to Christ at Greg Laurie's Harvest Crusade in Anaheim, California.

August 1993
Paul graduates from Platt College with diplomas in Graphic Design and Computer Graphics and a certificate of Outstanding Performance. Paul is immediately asked to teach the school's Saturday Workshops.

Summer 1996
Paul is asked to lead the praise band at the church where he had been previously playing bass. It is also the church he grew up in.

Summer 1997
Paul joins Chuck Milner's band, Raw Confession as bass player and back up vocalist. The band plays jails, juvenile halls, rescue missions and ocassional coffee houses.

November 1998
Paul moves to Colorado looking for new creative opportunities.

July 21, 2002
Paul & Lori start their interstate dating.

November, 2002
Paul gives Lori a ring in her kitchen, asking her to marry him.

August 2, 2003
Paul & Lori are married.

December 2003
Paul & Lori purchase their home in the Spring Creek community in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

April 19, 2004
Melody Hannah Carhart is born two months early.

July 2004
Paul & Lori start serving in the worship team at Grace Be Unto You Outreach Church.

January 2005
Paul & Lori start August Too Publishing as an outlet for Paul's writing. Their small press uses digital printing technology to bring publishing into the 21st century.

March 2005
Paul & Lori start leading worship at the Springs Rescue Mission in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

May 2005
Paul's new novel, One of the Girls, the first book put out by Paul & Lori's August Too Publishing and first in the Young Adult PsyChick™ series becomes available through select distributors.

October 2005
Paul and family return to California.
